Brazil"s National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) announced that it is reevaluating the registration of Emamectin Benzoate throughout Brazil. Through a statement, the entity announced that it will definitely release the insecticide – which is found as one of the most efficient controlling plagues such as Helicoverpa armigera in the country.

"The re-evaluation considered new information that can change the initial evaluation given in 2007, which led to the rejection of the registration request,” explains the press office of the agency in an official statement.

Currently, there are some Brazilian states that were authorized to use Emamectin Benzoate by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa). This provisional release came with the state of phytosanitary emergency decreed in 2013 and extended until the end of 2016.
