Pesticide technical registration in China grows significantly in last five years, with a surge of 169.09% in 2024

According to the China Pesticide Information Network, 281 pesticide technical registrations have been granted in China in the last five years, having increased year by year from 2020 to 2024, with a 169.09% increase in 2024 over 2023, as shown in the following figure:

Statistical analysis of category of pesticide registrations in the last five years reveals 97 herbicide registrations, the largest number of registrations, followed by insecticides, fungicides and plant growth regulators, as detailed in the following figure:

As shown in the figure below, in recent years, chlorantraniliprole technical is the largest registration, with 39 registrations, followed by 33 registrations of prothioconazole. The rest of major registrations include glufosinate-P, topramezone and tembotrione. Due to the huge number of registrations, this figure skips product with only 1 registration.
