The National Plant and Seed Quality and Health Service (SENAVE) updated regulations for the transport of active ingredients and formulated agrochemical products in the national territory of Paraguay. The current legislation was in effect for twelve years.

The measure was established by Resolution No. 213/19, with the aim of joining other regulations in force separately. "This Law establishes the legal regime of registration and control of any agricultural product for agricultural use from their entry into the national territory, as well as: the synthesis, formulation, fractionation, transportation, storage, labeling, marketing, advertising, application and elimination of waste and final disposal of empty containers and expired pesticides, in order to protect human health, animal, plant, and the environment ", according to this new resolution.

The update clarifies that vehicles registered abroad are allowed to register and qualify for SENAVE, based upon international standards for transporting active ingredients and pesticides formulated for agricultural use. It also provides for agricultural producers and their vehicles that privately transport loads of up to 500 kilos or liters of agrochemical products for their exclusive use.

Article 55 stipulates that "no cargo of agrochemical products may be transported without the corresponding safety sheet of each product". Article 56 states that "pesticides may not be transported at the same time and in the same vehicle with food, drinks, medicines, clothing or other elements that constitute a health risk when contaminated."

Likewise, it establishes the requirements for the qualification of smaller vehicles, that is to say with capacity for less than 3 tons, for the transport of agrochemical products. Resolution No. 213, entered into force on April 27, establishes a period of 180 calendar days for the adaptation of the transports to the new registry.
